IMMLi is built for meaningful human connection. But connection starts with understanding.

Through the Mind & Mood Index (“MMI”), reflections, prompts and shared spaces, IMMLi helps people notice how mood, work, care and relationships move together in everyday life — and connect with others with greater understanding, steadiness and respect.

IMMLi is not therapy, diagnosis or clinical care. It is a practical space for understanding yourself, recognising others and building healthier ways of relating.

These Community Guidelines explain the behaviour we expect across IMMLi profiles, chat, circles, community spaces, prompts, connection features and other interactive parts of the Services.

These Guidelines are binding

They form part of our Terms of Service. Before using features that allow you to post, message or interact with other users, you must agree to these Guidelines and our Terms.

The rules in one breath

The detail is below, and the detail is what we enforce. But it comes down to this.

  • Be real. What you represent as fact should be substantially truthful.
  • A boundary is not a challenge. No reply is a reply. Nobody owes you their attention.
  • Emotional difficulty is not misconduct. A hard week, low mood or caregiving strain will never get you restricted. What you do to other people will.
  • MMI is not a weapon. It is not a ranking of anyone’s worth, and it is not a diagnosis you get to hand out.
  • No extraction. Not money, not credentials, not intimacy taken from someone’s vulnerability.
  • Adults only. IMMLi is for people aged 18 and over, with zero tolerance for the exploitation of minors.

01The kind of space we are building#

IMMLi is not built for volume, performance or pressure. It is built for:

  • respect;
  • emotional honesty;
  • thoughtful connection;
  • self-awareness;
  • good relational judgment;
  • boundaries; and
  • safety.

You do not need to impress people here. You do need to treat people well.

02What we expect from you#

When you use IMMLi, we expect you to:

  • be truthful about who you are;
  • communicate respectfully;
  • respect personal and emotional boundaries;
  • engage in good faith;
  • avoid manipulative or exploitative behaviour;
  • take responsibility for what you share;
  • respect another person’s privacy;
  • recognise that other users are real people with real lives; and
  • help keep IMMLi safe, calm and respectful.

Nobody gets every interaction right. What matters is respecting boundaries and changing course when someone tells you something is not welcome.

03Be real#

IMMLi works only if people show up honestly.

You must not:

  • impersonate another person;
  • use another person’s photographs deceptively;
  • pretend to be someone you are not;
  • materially misrepresent your age, identity, relationship status, location or intentions;
  • create deceptive accounts;
  • create replacement accounts to evade enforcement;
  • catfish another person; or
  • use a false identity to scam or manipulate users.

You are not required to reveal everything about yourself. But what you choose to represent as fact should be substantially truthful.

04Respect boundaries#

Different people want different kinds of connection, at different speeds. Respect that. Do not:

  • pressure someone to reply;
  • guilt someone for not responding;
  • repeatedly contact someone who has disengaged;
  • push for emotional disclosure;
  • demand private information;
  • pressure someone to exchange phone numbers or social-media details;
  • pressure someone to move off IMMLi;
  • pressure someone to meet in person; or
  • use persistence, shame, guilt or emotional leverage to obtain attention.

A slow response is not an invitation to push harder. A boundary is not a challenge.

If someone blocks you, you must not attempt to contact them through another IMMLi account.

05No harassment, threats or abuse#

Harassment, intimidation and abuse are prohibited. This includes:

  • repeated unwanted contact;
  • threats;
  • bullying;
  • humiliation;
  • stalking;
  • sexual harassment;
  • coercion;
  • intimidation;
  • blackmail;
  • revenge behaviour;
  • degrading or hostile remarks; and
  • coordinated targeting of another user.

You may not use IMMLi to frighten, control, punish, humiliate or corner another person.

06No hate or targeted discrimination#

IMMLi does not permit content or conduct that attacks, dehumanises, threatens or targets people because of characteristics such as:

  • gender;
  • sex;
  • sexual orientation;
  • religion;
  • caste;
  • race;
  • ethnicity;
  • nationality;
  • disability;
  • age;
  • marital or family status; or
  • mental or physical health status.

This includes slurs, dehumanising stereotypes, targeted ridicule, coded hate and calls for exclusion or harm.

Discussion of difficult social issues is not automatically prohibited. Targeting people with hostility because of who they are is.

07No sexual pressure or exploitation#

IMMLi is not a platform for sexual pressure or explicit solicitation. You must not:

  • send unwanted sexual messages;
  • ask someone repeatedly for sexual content;
  • pressure someone into intimate conversation;
  • send sexually explicit images or videos through features where such content is prohibited;
  • sexualise someone after they have indicated that it is unwelcome;
  • make sexually degrading comments;
  • threaten to share intimate images or private information;
  • engage in sexual coercion; or
  • exploit another person’s vulnerability for sexual access.

Consent must be voluntary

Silence, discomfort or previous interest does not mean ongoing consent.

08Adults only#

IMMLi is for people aged 18 and over. We do not allow:

  • child sexual abuse material;
  • sexualised content involving minors;
  • grooming;
  • attempts to use IMMLi to contact minors for exploitative purposes; or
  • any other sexual exploitation of a child.

Zero tolerance

These are among the most serious violations of our rules. Where appropriate or legally required, IMMLi may preserve relevant information and report suspected child exploitation to appropriate authorities.

09Protect privacy#

People should be able to share thoughtfully without being exposed.

Do not disclose another person’s private information without appropriate permission, including:

  • telephone numbers;
  • email addresses;
  • home addresses;
  • sensitive workplace information;
  • financial information;
  • government identification details;
  • medical information;
  • private family information;
  • private photographs or recordings; or
  • screenshots of private conversations.

Do not dox, expose or publicly shame another person. Do not secretly record another person through IMMLi or distribute a private recording without lawful permission.

10Emotional safety matters#

People may share reflections about difficult days, caregiving strain, loneliness, work pressure or relationships. Treat that information carefully. Do not:

  • mock another person’s emotional state;
  • weaponise something they disclosed privately;
  • diagnose another user;
  • label someone in a degrading way;
  • use vulnerability to obtain attention, access, money, control or intimacy;
  • pressure someone to tell you more than they want to;
  • present yourself as their therapist or professional adviser when you are not; or
  • turn another person’s pain into entertainment.

IMMLi supports emotional understanding. It must not become emotional extraction.

11No misuse of MMI#

MMI exists to help people recognise patterns.

Do not use MMI states, prompts, summaries, compatibility signals or emotional information to:

  • rank someone’s worth;
  • describe them as emotionally superior or inferior;
  • shame them for a difficult period;
  • claim authority over them;
  • diagnose them;
  • pressure them to disclose information;
  • manipulate them;
  • claim that an IMMLi output proves something medically or psychologically; or
  • tell someone that IMMLi understands them better than they understand themselves.

MMI is a reflection and relevance tool. It is not a judgment of character.

12No manipulation, scams or financial exploitation#

Do not use IMMLi to extract money, credentials or other benefits through deception. This includes:

  • romance scams;
  • fake emergencies;
  • emotional manipulation for money;
  • fraudulent investment or crypto pitches;
  • phishing;
  • referral scams;
  • deceptive business offers;
  • fake identity-verification requests;
  • soliciting passwords or OTPs;
  • requesting bank credentials;
  • blackmail; and
  • other fraudulent schemes.

Do not use emotional closeness as a tool for financial extraction.

13No spam or unwanted promotion#

IMMLi is for human interaction, not mass outreach. Do not use the Services for:

  • repetitive unsolicited messages;
  • automated outreach;
  • mass promotion;
  • affiliate marketing;
  • unauthorised selling;
  • external lead generation;
  • traffic diversion;
  • irrelevant recruiting;
  • repeated posting of substantially identical content; or
  • harvesting user information for marketing.

Reasonable discussion of your work or life is different from using IMMLi primarily as a sales channel.

14Dangerous and illegal activity#

Do not use IMMLi to organise, encourage, facilitate or promote unlawful or seriously harmful conduct, including:

  • credible threats of violence;
  • trafficking;
  • extortion;
  • fraud;
  • non-consensual intimate-image sharing;
  • illegal weapons trafficking;
  • illegal drug distribution;
  • terrorism or violent extremism; or
  • instructions intended to facilitate serious unlawful harm.

Conversations about difficult experiences

People are allowed to talk about difficult experiences, including distress, grief, loneliness or past self-harm. What is prohibited is content that encourages, glorifies, pressures or instructs another person to harm themselves.

Safety

IMMLi is not an emergency or crisis service. If someone appears to face an immediate risk of serious harm, appropriate safety steps may be taken where available and permitted by law. In an emergency, contact your local emergency service.

15Community spaces#

Circles and other shared spaces should feel grounded. When participating:

  • stay reasonably relevant to the purpose of the space;
  • let other people participate;
  • do not deliberately derail vulnerable conversations;
  • do not shame other people’s life circumstances;
  • avoid inflammatory baiting;
  • do not turn shared spaces into personal advertising channels; and
  • respect any additional rules displayed for that space.

Disagreement is allowed. Harassment is not.

16Chat#

Chat is for mutual interaction. Nobody owes you a reply.

Do not use chat to:

  • interrogate or overwhelm another person;
  • repeatedly message after disengagement;
  • demand emotional disclosure;
  • repeatedly push phone numbers or social-media details;
  • repeatedly push an offline meeting;
  • sexualise another person without consent;
  • send threats or abusive content;
  • manipulate another person’s emotions; or
  • send spam.

If someone stops responding, says no or blocks you, respect it.

17Off-platform safety#

Some IMMLi connections may eventually move outside the Services.

If you choose to speak by phone, use another messaging platform, video call or meet someone in person, use your own judgment and appropriate caution. Consider:

  • taking time before moving off-platform;
  • protecting financial information;
  • avoiding unnecessary disclosure of your exact home address;
  • meeting in a public place when appropriate; and
  • letting a trusted person know about an in-person meeting.

IMMLi cannot control another person’s behaviour outside the Services. However, if serious harmful behaviour involving an IMMLi connection continues off-platform, you may report it where it is relevant to the safety of IMMLi users.

18Reporting#

If you encounter conduct or content that appears to violate these Guidelines, use the available Report function. Depending on the feature, you may be able to report:

  • a profile;
  • a user;
  • a message;
  • a community post; or
  • another piece of user-generated content.

Please report honestly and provide useful context where possible.

Important

Do not use reporting to punish someone simply because they rejected you, disagreed with you or chose to end a conversation. Knowingly false or malicious reports may themselves result in enforcement.

19Blocking#

You may use the available Block function when you do not want another user to contact or interact with you.

Blocking is different from reporting. Block means you are setting a personal boundary. Report means you are asking IMMLi to review potential misconduct. You may use one or both.

We do not require you to justify why you block someone. Attempts to evade another person’s block may result in enforcement.

20How IMMLi reviews safety issues#

IMMLi may review information reasonably relevant to a safety, abuse, fraud or policy concern. Depending on the situation, this may include:

  • the reported content;
  • relevant messages;
  • profiles;
  • community posts;
  • account history;
  • prior reports;
  • technical or account-security information; and
  • other information reasonably necessary to investigate the concern.

We do not review private communications simply for curiosity or entertainment.

Review is conducted for purposes such as:

  • responding to reports;
  • protecting users;
  • preventing fraud or abuse;
  • enforcing these Guidelines;
  • maintaining platform integrity; or
  • meeting legal obligations.

Our handling of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy.

21Enforcement#

Violating these Guidelines may result in action. Depending on seriousness, context and repetition, actions may include:

  • removing content;
  • issuing a warning;
  • restricting specific features;
  • restricting chat;
  • restricting participation in circles or community spaces;
  • restricting discovery or connection features;
  • temporary suspension;
  • permanent account removal;
  • preventing enforcement evasion;
  • device restrictions where reasonably necessary; or
  • reporting suspected unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

Not every violation leads to permanent removal. Where appropriate, we may use proportionate and escalating enforcement. Serious violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning.

22DQ — connection-safety restriction#

For certain serious or repeated trust-and-safety concerns, IMMLi may apply a connection-safety restriction referred to internally as a DQ or disqualification. A DQ may restrict access to:

  • discovery;
  • new connections;
  • chat;
  • circles;
  • community features; or
  • other interactive features.

A DQ may be considered for conduct such as:

  • serious or repeated harassment;
  • coercion;
  • repeated boundary violations;
  • sexual misconduct;
  • credible threats;
  • scams or exploitation;
  • serious privacy violations;
  • deceptive identity use;
  • enforcement evasion; or
  • other material safety risks.

DQ is not MMI

A DQ is based on behaviour and safety. It is not based simply on:

  • low mood;
  • emotional strain;
  • caregiving burden;
  • work pressure;
  • relationship difficulty;
  • an MMI state; or
  • a difficult period in someone’s life.

Important

A DQ is not a medical or psychological diagnosis and should not be treated as one.

23Appeals#

Where an appeal mechanism is available, you may request review of an enforcement decision. An appeal should explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered and may include relevant context.

We may maintain a restriction where it remains reasonably necessary for:

  • user safety;
  • platform integrity;
  • fraud prevention; or
  • legal compliance.

We may be unable to disclose all details of a report where doing so would compromise another person’s privacy or safety.

24Emotional difficulty is not misconduct#

Having a difficult day is not against the rules. Feeling lonely is not against the rules.

Experiencing stress, grief, caregiving strain, relationship difficulty or low mood is not misconduct. MMI exists precisely because people’s lives move through different states.

Enforcement is based on what you do to other people and how you use the platform, not on whether your emotional state looks balanced.

25The standard we care about#

A useful question is not only: “Is this technically allowed?” It is also:

Does this respect the other person?

  • Does it respect their boundary?
  • Does it leave room for dignity?
  • Does it support understanding rather than pressure?
  • Does it make IMMLi calmer and safer?

Meaningful connection does not require perfect language. It requires good faith, maturity and respect.

26Contact and safety reporting#
