About immli

01What we are building#

immli reads the parts of life that shape one another — how you feel, what work takes, what caring takes, and who you have around you — and turns them into something legible. It then lets you find people whose patterns complement yours, so a conversation can begin from real understanding rather than from a summary you had to compose while exhausted.

The product arrives in 2026. This site is the public record of what we are making and who is making it.

02The people building it#

Three founders, from three fields that do not usually meet: journalism, architecture and engineering.

Nilanjana Bhowmick

A multi-award-winning independent journalist and feminist author with more than two decades of reporting, based in New Delhi. A former TIME correspondent, she has written for National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Guardian, the BBC, Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, Reuters and the Financial Times, reporting on gender, development, social justice, human rights and the environment.

She is the author of Lies Our Mothers Told Us (Aleph, 2022) and How Not To Be A Superwoman (Penguin, 2024) — two books about the quiet and not-so-quiet burdens placed on women, which is the same territory immli was built to make visible. She has won the Institute of Development Studies award for Best Development Journalist, the Lorenzo Natali Prize and the Diageo Women's Empowerment Prize, and is a TEDx speaker. Saubhagya ‘Daksh’

Architect and designer, and founder of IDIEQ — a regenerative architecture studio and makerspace in the Indian Himalayas, which he started in 2015 and runs from Haldwani, Uttarakhand. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Human Settlements, he has spent a decade making low-cost, ecological buildings in places where building at all is difficult: homestays, houses, temples and community spaces across the Kumaon hills, and a mud village in Lombok.

The through-line is ghost villages — the migration and reverse-migration reshaping the central Himalayas, and the question of what it actually takes to make somewhere worth staying in. The work has been published by ArchDaily, Dwell, ELLE, Archello, Archinect, Rethinking The Future, Bluprint, Inside Outside and the Economic Times.

He also works in UI/UX design, which is the part of his practice immli draws on most directly — the same concern with how a person moves through a space, applied to a screen instead of a building.

Nitin Dev

A frontend engineer, and the reason any of this is something you can actually open. He builds interactive user interfaces — his own summary of the work is "building interactive user interfaces that matter" — and has taken e-commerce and fintech products, both B2B and B2C, from ideation through to development.

He works in JavaScript and TypeScript across React and Redux, with Node.js on the server and HTML, CSS and Webpack underneath. His depth is in the parts of frontend work that only become visible when they are missing: web architecture, micro-frontend structure, and interfaces that stay fast and legible as a product grows.

He is also the named technical and security contact for immli — vulnerability reports and account access faults reach him directly at nitin@immli.me.

03immli Women#

The same team also builds immli Women — a separate project, run by the same people, from the same conviction that the burdens women carry are worth measuring rather than assuming.

04How we handle emotional data#

These are commitments, and they are enforceable against us through our Privacy Policy rather than being marketing copy alone.

• We never sell your emotional data. It belongs to you.
• You can delete everything, at any time. See account and data deletion.
• Minimum viable data. We ask for what helps you and not more.
• No leaderboards, no rankings, no targets. A wellbeing measure you have learned to perform for has stopped measuring anything.
